🌌⭐ Day 3 Tournament Report – The Force Awakens

A long time ago, in an estuary not so far away…

Day 3 delivered another epic chapter in the Evans Head Fishing Classic, with the leaderboard shifting faster than the Millennium Falcon jumping to hyperspace. Some anglers strengthened their grip on the galaxy, while others launched surprise attacks worthy of the Rebel Alliance. With the tournament entering its business end, every millimetre is becoming as valuable as a Kyber Crystal.

🚀 Adult Division

⚔️ The Empire Strikes Back
Brad Mayes continues to rule the AJ-Sambo galaxy with his monster 1030mm fish. Troy Robson and Darcy Banks remain in pursuit, but they’ll need the Force to close that gap.

🐟 Blackfish
A new Sith Lord has emerged! Brendon Palmer has stormed to the top with 472mm, nudging Ray Palmer (460mm), while Day 1 leader Bernard Richter has slipped to third. One swing of the lightsaber completely changed the leaderboard.

🎯 Bream/Tarwhine
The Rebels have launched an attack with Mal Hancock taking control on 466mm, narrowly ahead of Natalee Reynolds (450mm). Nathan Byron’s Day 1 effort is now hanging onto third.

💥 Dart
The battle continues to rage. Mark Bonnor has landed a 457mm upgrade to take the lead, with Ryan Kernaghan only 2mm behind. Tom McCall has been pushed into third, but this division is still anyone’s.

🌊 Flathead
Brent McMinn continues to hold the high ground with 890mm, but Codey Hodges has entered the battle with 883mm, leaving just 7mm between first and second. Obi-Wan would approve.

👑 Kingfish
No change in the Galactic Senate. Chad Banks still wears the crown with 1160mm, while Gawaine Blake and Brad Mayes remain locked in an incredibly tight duel for the remaining podium places.

🐉 Mulloway
DJ McKenna’s colossal 1310mm fish is still the Death Star of the tournament, but Shenoah McKenna has fired back with a huge 1280mm upgrade to move into second. The McKenna family is proving to be a force stronger than the Jedi Council.

🎖️ Pearl Perch
Andrew Witchard remains undefeated at 570mm, but Mackenzie Luck and Troy Robson are still within striking distance. One quality fish could completely rewrite this story.

🐠 Snapper
Darcy Banks continues to defend the throne with 945mm, keeping Chad Banks and Ryley Clothier at bay.

Tailor
Another leaderboard shake-up! Shane Griffiths upgrades to 832mm to extend his lead, while Ryan Kernaghan jumps into second, pushing Angus Gover down the standings.

🔥 Trag
Darcy Banks continues his march through the galaxy, comfortably holding top spot with 875mm.

Whiting
Perhaps the biggest plot twist of Day 3. Alexander Klassen has produced a 429mm fish to leapfrog Ryan Kernaghan and steal first place. Josh Dorsman remains within striking distance. A classic Star Wars comeback.

With only a short time left before the final battle, the leaderboard is tightening faster than a tractor beam. Some anglers have one hand on the trophy, but as every Star Wars fan knows…

Never underestimate the power of a last-minute comeback. May the Fish be with you! 🎣⭐
