🐶🎣 Evans Head Fishing Classic Junior & Cadet Report

💙 Bluey Takes Over the Leaderboard!

If there was ever a day that felt like an episode of Bluey, this was it. There were moments of excitement, friendly competition, a few “for real life?!” surprises and plenty of laughs as our Cadets and Juniors turned the Evans Head Fishing Classic into one giant game of Keepy Uppy… except this time, it was fish instead of balloons.

🐾 Cadets: Big Fish, Big Smiles

🐟 Bream-Tarwhine – A Backyard Battle

The Bream-Tarwhine competition was tighter than Bandit trying to squeeze into a tiny cubby house.

🥇 Ana Seslic claimed top spot with an impressive 440 mm, but 🥈 Beau Donnelly (402 mm) and 🥉 Emma Fox (384 mm) weren’t far behind, keeping the pressure on right to the end.

🎯 Flathead – A Ripper Catch

Over in Flathead, 🥇 Kayde Donnelly pulled off one of the performances of the day with a commanding 652 mm fish.

🥈 Ariana McKenna (578 mm) and 🥉 Macklin Groth (522 mm) rounded out a quality podium.

⭐ Judges Choice – Anything Can Happen

The Judges Choice category produced the biggest surprise, much like one of Bluey’s backyard adventures where anything can happen.

🥇 Pania Hayman stole the show with an incredible 853 mm Shovelnose Shark, comfortably ahead of 🥈 Barlin Molloy’s 780 mm Mactuna, while 🥉 Ryder Henrick’s 600 mm Snapper completed the top three.

🌊 Whiting – Down to the Wire

The Whiting category was another close contest.

🥇 Ryder Lodge edged home with 385 mm, just holding off 🥈 Brody Symonds (374 mm) and 🥉 Sophie Symonds (370 mm).

That’s only 15 mm separating the podium—the fishing equivalent of Bluey beating Bingo by a whisker in a backyard race.

🌟 Juniors: Future Champions Shine

The Juniors weren’t about to let the Cadets have all the fun.

🐟 Bream-Tarwhine – Another Nail-Biter

🥇 Beau Donnelly backed up another strong day by taking out Bream-Tarwhine with 402 mm, narrowly ahead of 🥈 Kace McKenna (390 mm), while 🥉 Ilaria Morgan (385 mm) made it another nail-biting finish.

💪 Flathead – Monster Fish Alert!

The standout catch of the day belonged to 🥇 Delilah Outerbridge, whose monster 767 mm Flathead was one of the highest scoring fish recorded.

🥈 Oscar Quirk (670 mm) and 🥉 Kayde Donnelly (652 mm) also landed outstanding fish in an incredibly strong category.

🎣 Judges Choice – Straight Out of Bluey’s Imagination

The Judges Choice section looked like something straight out of a Bluey imagination game.

🥇 Dekota Jeffery claimed top honours with an 850 mm Mulloway, while 🥈 Dustin Outerbridge followed closely with another quality 710 mm Mulloway.

🥉 Benjamin Heath’s 640 mm Snapper rounded out another impressive podium.

🌊 Whiting – A Family Affair

Finally, the Whiting category saw 🥇 Dustin Outerbridge reel in victory with 400 mm, ahead of 🥈 Delilah Outerbridge (372 mm) and 🥉 Sophie Symonds (370 mm).

💙 Bluey’s Moment of the Day

🏅 If Bluey was handing out a “Good Sport” sticker, it would probably go to everyone who found themselves in multiple categories.

👏 The Donnellys, Outerbridges and Symonds family all featured across the leaderboard, proving that fishing, much like a Bluey episode, is always better when the whole family gets involved.

As Bandit would say:

🐶 “It’s not just about winning… although catching an 850 mm Mulloway certainly helps!”
