Evans Head Classic Day 6 Thursday
We think the wind scared people off. The sun came out strong first thing this morning but we noticed a pretty strong breeze kick up in the arena around mid morning. There were also reports that some boats had come back in just as quickly as they had gone out. The lack of big offshore fish numbers was obvious too.
One solitary AJ/Sambo came in for Brad Mayes. Suffice to say he won the day with his 803mm fish. A solitary King/Cobia also won the division for Kevin Reilly, while Pearl Perch was won by Adam Mitchell beating Joseph Matejevic. Three snapper managed to hit the leader board though with Robert Hargraves winning with an 871 over Brad Mayes and Jason Sinclair. Trag was won by Mitchell Rizzardini’s 705mm fish.
Darcy McKenna found a monster 1340mm mulloway somewhere out there to take out fist and also find himself on the overall leaderboard.
In the calmer estuary, Sannon Connor found a 442mm bream/tarwhine to leap to first for the day and on the overalls. A 907m flathead was landed by Glenn Hitchens and Bernard Richter again won blackfish with a 406mm fish.
Off the beach Tom McCall snatched dart from Alexander Klassen and off the stones, Nick Carberry won tailor.
As we enter the last day of the come tomorrow it is your last chance to get on the leaderboard so be safe and have fun.
