Evans Head Classic Day 4 Tuesday

Again the offshore fishing was hot and as a result there were some improvements on fish caught yesterday and the overall board. Make sure you check the app, or the board in site for the latest largest.

Inshore, tailor went to Matthew Hardy with a 530mm fish. Solid but not trouble the overall scores. Second was Luke Tinson and third, Richard Bennett. The Dart went to the ever out there Tom McCall with a 444mm fish ahead of Josh Garrett and Josh Mallam.

The Bream again were over 400mm with a 417mm for Martin Soutar who always seems to be on the board somewhere during the event. The blackfish went to Shane Griffiths’s 431mm fish. He edged out Alex Klassen and John Lollback. Alex made up for that taking out whiting with a 410mm fish ahead of Pania Hayman and Malcolm Boddy. The crocs have finally landed too with flathead up around the 988mm mark for Tegan Schneider. Daylight again back to second with an 855mm for Carl North.

Offshore we saw huge improvements, AJ Sambo went to Stephen Banks’s 1210mm fish with a decent gap to Eijah Wise’s 955mm fish for second.  Stephen also took out king/cobia with a 1103mm fish. DJ McKenna landed a 1200mm mulloway just pipping the previous best of 1199mm. All the mulloway today were over 1100mm. The snapper are also getting bigger with a 915 for Samuel Reeves beating Riley Jenkins and Chris Jolley’s fish both over 850mm. Trag was hotly contested with Brad Mayes beating out Stephen Banks. Sadly the Pearl Perch again failed to materialize at the organisers tent this afternoon and Darren Constable’s 600mm fish would have been delightful but we settled for mudcrabs from Ash at the Lennox Smoking Barrel instead.
