Day 2 Sunday
Things are heating up. The fish are getting bigger, and the conditions improved immensely. The sun came out! Inshore it was hot. I even had to pull out the shorts today. The largest blackfish was taken out by Bredon Palmer with a 450mm fish beating out Bernard Richter and Josh Darantes. Bream/Tarwhine was headed up by a solid Andrew Paterson caught fish of 465mm. He would not give up his spot except to say it was off the beach, and there are plenty of those around here. Bernard Richter again chased Dart and took out first place. A massive 915mm flathead won the day for Natalee Reynolds while Ryan Kernaghan took out the whiting with a 437mm fish.
In the offshore categories, AJ/Sambo was won by Ethan Donnelly with the only fish in that category for the day. Jeffrey Harris beat Ethan Donnelly for the biggest King category. Darcy Banks landed a whopping 1245 Mulloway to lead with an also healthy 1200 and 1197 fish each for John Wraight and Glenn Banks. Bailey Davis’s 490mm pearl perch was the biggest for the day and a 924mm snapper narrowly won the category for Robert Hargraves. Tailor and Trag were won by Mark Bonnor and Nathan Olley, respectively.
The evening closed out as always with a bunch of give-aways and random draws for all categories, as well as the Marine Rescue raffle. Please remember to support the clubs and volunteer organisations that come down each day.
